 Airway Workshop

Airway Workshop Tuesday June, 26, 2012, 1300-1700

Workshop for: EMS providers, physicians, mid-levels, nurses - anyone who initiates, manages or maintains an airway in emergent situations.

Our faculty will provide hands-on training in the following areas:

  • Bag-Valve-Mask use and oxygenation
    • Do you know what tidal volume you deliver by BVM?
    • How is oxygen delivery affected by rate/volume?
  • Endotracheal intubation
    • Adult and pediatric
  • Supraglottic airways
  • Pediatric airway management
  • Video-assisted intubation
  • Cricothyrotomy
    • Use simulator mannequins as well as sheep trachs

Space is limited, so be sure to register early. You can register at the same time as the conference - see the upper right corner of this page. The cost for the workshop is $50, and up to 4 hours of CME is available for physicians, nurses and EMS providers.


  
 Injury Prevention Workshop

Injury Prevention Workshop Tuesday June 26, 2012, 0900-1700

This workshop is aimed primarily at trauma coordinators and trauma program managers who may have questions about how to establish a productive injury prevention program - without reinventing the wheel.  There are a lot of quality programs out there serving the needs of communities all over the State.

Join our faculty, from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Trauma Program, as well as a number of trauma professionals from around the State, as they highlight:

  • State-wide Injury Prevention strategic plan
  • How to access and utilize existing data sources
  • How to evaluate your Injury Prevention programs
  • Best practices in Injury Prevention
  • Panel discussions in the 4 key Injury Prevention focus areas:
    • Accidental Poisonings
    • Falls
    • Motor vheicle crashes
    • Suicide/intentional trauma

Workshop class size will be limited, so be sure to sign up early.  You can sign up at the same time you register for the conference - see the upper left corner of this page.  Registration is $35, and includes lunch. Up to 7 hours of continuing education will be awarded for nurses and prehospital providers.
